Web Applications

HTML5, Javscript, CSS, PHP, NodeJS, MySQL… these are a few of my favorite things. Whenever possible, we try to create educational content that can reach the most people, as efficiently and economically as possible. The modern web and on-demand-cloud services make these lofty goals possible, and this has been the bulk of our work over the last ten years.

A collaboration with a federal agency and an MA based small business dedicated to working for underserved populations, this web app features training modules for mental health professionals, integrating the latest in neuroscience with strategies for implementation. Built on top of the Craft CMS and Google’s Angular.io framework, this platform makes adding and tracking new trainings a piece of cake. As with all technologies that are distributed via the federal government, this code is Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 compliant. When traffic spikes, we’ve configured Amazon Web Services to spawn new servers to temporarily meet periods of high demand subsequent to email blasts or other usage triggers, and to retract afterward to keep costs as low as possible.

This analytics platform provides real-time usage analytics for a statewide substance use prevention & social decision making game that we developed for middle schoolers in collaboration with a Boston based design company & a state government agency. This dashboard provides insights for project administrators to better understand user behavior and trends that can inform subsequent iterations of the game. Taking advantage of the JSON functions in MySQL 5.7.22+, this web app quickly fetches and formats date-bounded data queries to drive GoogleCharts displays of targeted user metrics.
